We stumbled into our campsite close to 8 a clock and our fire was burning shortly after. One of my favorite things about camping is the smell of nature with the mix of wood burning. There is nothing better than your toes getting all toasty from the flames of a fire. Honestly, it had been way too long since we had packed up our camping bags and enjoyed the beautiful big outdoors. I almost forgot what it felt like to sleep on ground...Until a raccoon invaded our campsite and decided to stow away with a beer bottle and plate. Then it all came flooding back! Who knows what in the world he would do with those random objects? Any ways, we ventured out to Old Stone Fort for the weekend and minus the heat it was wonderful. We hiked to a couple waterholes and swam next to the gorgeous waterfalls. I could not believe how strong the waterfalls were! I had to hold on for dear life just to stay in one spot! After a full day of hiking and swimming, we were met with a gush of rain. Sleeping in a tent in a thunderstorm is exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time. But I love the sound of rain beating against the tent. The next day, was muddy, not really ideal for hiking. So, we spent the rest of the afternoon driving around exploring the area. Have I mentioned how beautiful it was?
Well, that's how we spent our weekend, exploring the big outdoors, rummaging around with raccoons, and eating over the fire. I'd love to hear how you've been spending your time off....
